As the farm manager of Great Kids Farm, Greg Strella uses agriculture to bring learning to life for young people.  Great Kids Farm provides opportunities for Baltimore City school students to understand and participate in every aspect of food preparation – from seed to fork – and prepares them to lead 21st century sustainability efforts.  Greg collaborates with a rich community of partners to design and implement pre-kindergarten through post-graduation educational programs that serve thousands of urban students, teachers, administrators, and families each year.  Greg believes that reconnecting classrooms and cafeterias with the living spaces around them will contribute greatly to raising a generation of healthy, creative young people fully aware of their ability to live lightly, profitably, and joyfully with one another on this earth.

A native Pennsylvanian, Greg originally moved to Maryland to earn his BFA studying sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

His work with food has included cooking and baking professionally, working on urban and rural farms, and cultivating a wide variety of living things in parks, vacant lots, backyards, and schoolyards with people of many ages, backgrounds, and reasons for growing together.

Greg has been a PASA member since 2007 and board member since 2012.  He currently serves on the board of directors for Future Harvest-Chesapeake Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture.
