WHAT IS LOCAL FOOD MONTH?
September is harvest season in western Pennsylvania, and, for the seventh year, the region-wide Local Food Month celebration provides a full calendar of opportunities for everyone to enjoy and learn about local food and local farmers. Presented by the Buy Fresh Buy Local® program of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) and Eat’n Park Restaurants, Local Food Month offers delicious, and educational events spotlighting western Pennsylvania’s vibrant local food community every day of the month, including a new interactive Buy Fresh Buy Local Challenge.
It's easy, fun, and delicious to support local food and farmers in September! Buy Fresh Buy Local enthusiasts can check out the Local Food Month calendar of events, sign-up for the Buy Fresh Buy Local Challenge, and find ways to get involved and win prizes through DIY Weekly Food Challenges led by notable food and farming bloggers at localfoodmonth.tumblr.com.
