Board President Message
Welcome to PASA's web site! You are just beginning a very satisfying and rewarding journey! There are many organizations and information sources that yearn for your participation. Trust me you have come to the right place!
PASA is farmers, restaurants, colleges, businesses, and individuals all committed to finding sustainable solutions to our food and fiber future. Our farmers, from the veterans to the beginners, are passionate about making this world a better place. Sharing. Educating. Eating. Learning. Our members do it all and know each and every day will be a new challenge.
The PASA family welcomes you and your neighbors.
There is no better feeling than joining with energized people to support farmers who labor to produce food they take pride in.
There is a lot of discussion about what is sustainable. Let me say as a long time dairy farmer, food should sustain our children and not cause illness. Food prices should sustain family farms beyond one generation. Food production should not endanger the farmer and his family. Soil and water contamination must be solved. Farming models should not follow the path of industry where bigger is better based on mountains of debt.
Together we can learn, and work side-by-side towards a future of food security and cohesiveness within our communities.
Social consciousness is possible if we honestly evaluate where we are and how we got here. How do we make it happen? Joining together with people of like mind and spirit.
Throughout the year PASA hosts farm-based education tours for all to learn and experience hands on food processing and production models. In February we host our life-changing Farming for the Future conference that brings together the brightest stars of sustainability found anywhere. Our organization is attracting businesses with sustainable missions who are looking for people like you! Your involvement will allow you to stay tuned to what affects you, your family and your neighbors. Honest healthy information is not a privilege but a citizen's right.
My family farm is living proof that PASA is helping open doors for new markets. We still direct market milk and supply the Pennsylvania College of Technology as well. Relationships that would not have happened without the sustainable network PASA has developed. You and I can work together to provide "food fit for our kids" ...Come join the Good Food Neighborhood!
