Consumer Outreach
Consumer Outreach

The majority of food consumed in the U.S. travels an average of 1500 miles from farm to table. Will your next meal come from a local farm, another state, or another country – and will you even know? We can help. The Pennsylvania Buy Fresh Buy Local® program helps consumers find, choose and appreciate great local foods… and helps them support the farmers and lands which produce them. We publish local food guides (both in print and online), organize tasting events and sponsor farm tours – among other activities.
Wherever you find a Buy Fresh Buy Local sign or label – in a store, market or restaurant – you’ve found a business with a commitment to feature local foods and support local producers. To explore your region’s food system further, hear about upcoming events and find more ways to get involved, please visit the Pennsylvania Buy Fresh Buy Local website today!
PASA coordinates this program in partnership with a diverse coalition of organizations and agencies, supported by a growing community of local volunteers, on behalf of our national partner, the FoodRoutes Network.
By visiting www.buylocalpa.org you can also take advantage of our new consumer focused membership program called the Good Food NeighborhoodTM. The focus of the program is to build a community of informed and engaged consumers. PASA members can join the Good Food Neighborhood at no additional cost.
