Integrating bees into your farming practice can help nurture successful pollination on your farm.   Having taught beekeeping and run a home hive program, Liam Goble is expanding his work with farmers. Discover the tenets of sustainable beekeeping, from purchasing bees & equipment, to hive management & honey harvesting, and discuss various apian threats including mites and Colony Collapse Disorder.  As a beekeeper, Liam’s philosophy is centered on sustainable apiary practices: natural comb, IPM & reduced pesticide practices, less-intrusive hive management, genetic diversity, and no migratory pollination.

Liam and Katie Goble operate Half Acre Farm, a small hobby farm on half an acre in State College where they raise chickens, rabbits, and bees.  Liam is the president of the Bellefonte Farmers Market, where they sell eggs, honey, candles, and flowers.
