Join farmer George Brittenburg as he walks attendees through the systems and techniques he has developed for safely incorporating chicken pasture into a vegetable rotation using cover crops at Taproot Farm. The discussion will address the economics, logistics, techniques, marketing, benefits, and challenges of raising hens and producing eggs ins such a system.

Taproot Farm operates a diversified vegetable CSA that offers their eggs as an add-on. Taproot also partners with other local growers and artisans in offering fruit, bread, cheese, and mushrooms as CSA add-ons. Taproot is driven by a passion for food, sustainability, and community.
Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) events are open to the public, but geared towards new and beginning farmers. All CRAFT events are free, but pre-registration is appreciated.
