Business Member Profile - Rimol Greenhouse Systems

Rimol Greenhouse Systems
Hookset, New Hampshire
PASA Business Member Since 2013

Bob Rimol founded Rimol Greenhouse Systems (RGS) back in 1994. He started with the idea of designing and manufacturing high quality and high efficiency greenhouses that would suit the unique needs of small local growers. Mike Marett joined RGS as a partner five years later. Already aware of the importance of sustainability in the future of agriculture, they enlisted the help of Eliot and Clara Coleman of Four Seasons Farm – noted authors and leaders in the sustainable agriculture, for input on their greenhouse designs.

Two decades later, Rimol Greenhouse systems, is recognized nationally for quality, efficiency and customer service. They continue to consult with the Colemans and pride themselves on not just selling greenhouses, but greenhouse systems that address the individual needs of their clients.

Discussing the changes he has seen in the greenhouse industry over the past twenty years, Bob pointed to the increased marketing savvy of local growers and increased market share of fresh local foods. From the early nineties to now local farmers and producers have grown their customer base and this has translated into an increased demand for automation in greenhouse systems.

Rimol Greenhouse Systems joined PASA as a Business Member in August 2013, because they see PASA as one of the most significant trade associations in the country – educating members and the public about sustainable agriculture and local food systems.

When asked about why a business from New Hampshire would want to belong to an organization based in Pennsylvania, Bob explained that they see Pennsylvania as hotbed for growing- both local foods and sustainable agriculture. He went on to say, “even though PASA is a Pennsylvania organization its reputation and message reaches beyond state borders." He also has a closer to bond to Pennsylvania. His daughter Kaitlyn, who has attended the PASA Conference, is a Junior at Penn State University, seeking a degree in Plant Science
